Description
Hi, thank you for shopping buy! Offered on buy it now is a copy, a reproduction of an 1863 Civil War Confederate bond. The loan amount was 0 and to be repaid to the holder of the bond at an interest rate of 8%! Gee, before the banks got greedy, standard modern saving accounts only repaid us at a rate of 5 1/2% at best! Guess it was better to live back in the 1860s. This is quite a piece of history!!You get 2 pages; the bond itself is one separate page. The coupons are on a second separate page. There are 16 unused coupons. The Confederate government apparently never paid this loan off completely. Too bad we can't collect on it today! Can you imagine how much we could collect on just 0 after more than 160 years!
The original was pretty badly damaged so that the very edges of the bond itself were pretty tattered. So we just had the edges deleted in the template this is printed from. It might appear a little fuzzy in the photos, but, that's my fault processing the photo. Trust that the printing is completely legible on each of the 2 pages but due to age, there might be spots where the printing is a little faded.
PLEASE REMEMBER THESE ARE NOT ORIGINALS, THEY ARE COPIES / REPRODUCTIONS MADE FROM AN ORIGINAL.
Shipping; Unless otherwise specified by the buyer, these will be folded according to the original folds on the bond to the best of our ability and shipped in an 11 x 4 standard first class envelope. If you want tracking, This will cost the buyer an additional .65.
