esigned to replicate an unused ticket to the Woodstock Music and Art Fair in 1969. Struck from 5 grams of .999 fine silver to commemorate the 50th Anniversary of the music festival, mintage is appropriately limited to just 1,969 pieces, issued by the Cook Islands.
Three Day Woodstock Ticket
The reverse is colorized red and black on a beige watermark patterned background, divided into ticket segments for use on Friday, Saturday and Sunday of the event. The price of ".00" represented an advance sale ticket; those sold at the gate were .00.
Ian Rank-Broadley's effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II appears on the obverse, accompanied by the inscriptions "ELIZABETH II," "COOK ISLANDS" and "1 DOLLAR." The image is flanked by the Woodstock 50th Anniversary logo and the "NO REFUNDS..." disclaimer that appeared on the original tickets. It is very entertaining to read in the fine print: "No alcoholic beverages permitted on the premises."
