THIS LISTING IS FOR A BEAUTIFUL LALIQUE OPALESCENT ASHTRAY IN THE "GAO" PATTERN.  ALTHOUGH ORIGINALLY INTENDED TO BE AN ASHTRAY, THIS LOVELY DISH IS PERFECT USED AS A NUT OR CONDIMENT DISH. THE DESIGN FEATURES A MOLDED EXTERIOR PATTERN OF INTERTWINING ENGRAVED "ROPE" SURROUNDING CLEAR ROUND "BULLSEYE" MEDALLIONS IN HIGH RELIEF. THIS ASHTRAY IS NORMALLY FOUND IN A CLEAR AND FROSTED CRYSTAL AND IT IS UNUSUAL TO FIND IT IN THIS OPALESCENT COLORATION. ASHTRAY IS SIGNED IN SCRIPT "LALIQUE, FRANCE" ON BASE.
MEASURES 2" TALL WITH A 4 1/4" DIAMETER TOP.
THIS ASHTRAY/DISH IS IN EXCELLENT CONDITION WITH NO NOTED FLAWS ALTHOUGH THERE A FEW FAINT NO-HARM SURFACE SCRATCHES ON BASE FROM NORMAL WEAR.
