Lalique France Crystal Robinson Mesanges Powder Dresser Box, Birds Sparrows
Lalique originally intended the Robinson covered dish as a Vanity Dresser Box. However, it is larger than a typical powder box and can be multi-purposed. It can be used a candy dish or for serving condiments on the dinner table. The lid could also be a serving dish by itself. This is a very versatile and potentially useful item.
Designed in the 1950's by Marie Lalique, the lid is decorated with Baby Sparrows (Mesanges). The decorated lid harmonizes well with a beautiful paneled box. The box is signed "Lalique France" on the bottom.
Lalique's legendary quality is immediately apparent.  It has that classic Lalique look of satinized or frosted glass contrasting with sparkling and ultra transparent clear crystal. The base is clear crystal, ribbed and straight sided.  The lid has a frosted ring on top and a continuous ring of adorable little sparrows around the outer rim.
Mint condition. No chips, cracks, repairs, or scratches.
Measurements: 3.5" height with lid in place by 4.5" diameter.
