Description
Welcome toAntiques & Moore!
This listing is for a stunning huge Lalique MARRAKECH sculptured vase with clear body and frosted topaz colored accents, c. 1970's. Designed by Marie Claude Lalique in 1978 while vacationing in Morocco and the vase has definite Moroccan influence. The vase features large palm leaves (wings) in smokey topaz on each side with the color shading downward from the clear crystal rim and shoulder area.
Vase is signed with etched signature "Lalique, France" and has it's original product number "12311" label and another label "Made in France". Retail on this amazing vase was 00.00 and it is now retired.
Marc Lalique
developed an innovative injection technique to incorporate color into a single piece of clear crystal. The process placed the frosted smokey topaz leaves (wings) on the crystal vase by pressing the glass leaves into the mold and then blowing in the colorless clear crystal. This was a complicated process which is
exclusive to Lalique creations.
Measures 12 1/4" high with an overall width of 9" and a 4" base diameter. Weighs 12.5 pounds.
This nice vase is in very good to excellent Estate condition with no noted flaws other than one tiny pin-head size nick on one of the topaz leaves (see photos). No other noted damage or flaws.
