LALIQUE VINTAGE CRYSTAL ROSCOFF BOWL - SIGNED - FISH AND BUBBLES - PRE-1978- 14".
A circle of fish swim out of a swirl of bubbles. The Roscoff bowl was designed by Rene Lalique in 1932 and named after a famous fishing port in Bretagne, France. The bubbles on the face of the bowl are an optical effect formed by bumps of crystal apparent when you look at - and feel -   the underside of the bowl.
The diameter is 14 inches and the depth of the bowl is 2.5 inches. It weighs 6 lbs 6 oz.
It is signed  "Lalique France" in cursive script underneath the head of one of the fish. The absence of the "R" in a circle in the signature (which designates registration of a trademark) indicates this Roscoff bowl was made before 1978.
Condition is good to very good. Wear is minimal. There are no cracks, chips, fractures or repairs.
