Type 47
ST style
Amplifier tubes.
Both TV-7/U test at 69%.
Up for bids is a pair of type 47,
ST style
amplifier tubes.
Tube 1, pictured on the left is branded for Philco and was made by Sylvania.
Tube 2 on the right was made by and branded for Ken-Rad.
Except for the "smoked" black glass on the Ken-Rad branded tube both tubes are nearly identical in construction and appearance.  They
have 4 prong top mica spacers, black box type plate construction, hanging filaments for lower noise and bottom foil style getters.   The bases are
tight and there are no loose particles in either tube or base.
They
were
tested
for transconductance (Gm), noise, gas,
and
shorts
on my Dan Nelson calibrated TV-7/U tube tester using a digital meter for greater accuracy.
The TV-7/U minimum recommended value (65%) for the 47 is 50 (Gm=1250).
