Size:7/16"  |  Item Length String:5 Feet  |  Number of Items:1 This yellow Palmetto style 1350 PTFE-impregnated aramid compression packing seal with a high-temperature inert lubricant protects pumps and valves from fluid leaks in extreme service applications. The interwoven braided packing seal is made of para-aramid filament for a high strength-to-weight-ratio, high tensile strength, and resistance to abrasive media, such as slurries. Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) dispersion fills any gaps in the braid to help improve sealing and protect the packing from harsh chemicals, including solvents, acids, bases, and strong oxidizers. PTFE’s low coefficient of friction helps reduce shaft wear by minimizing drag and heat buildup between the packing and the shaft or stem. A high-temperature inert lubricant helps improve break-in time, reduce frictional heat, and prevent the packing from spinning with the shaft or stem, reducing the chance of wear and extending the packing life. This packing seal is compatible with media in the pH range of 3-11, has a pressure rating of 5,000 pounds per square inch (psi), and a surface speed of 2,500 feet per minute (fpm). It operates across a wide temperature range from -10 to 500 degrees F (-23 to 260 degrees C). Style 1350 is suitable for extreme service use in water, steam, oils, brines, solvents, and mild acids and caustics. It is used in high-pressure applications and equipment such as slurry pumps, sludge pumps, hydropulpers, and reciprocating pumps, among others.
