THIS LISTING IS FOR A BEAUTIFUL ORIGINAL SIGNED R. LALIQUE CLEAR AND FROSTED CENDRIER/ASHTRAY IN THE "JAMAIQUE" PATTERN, c. 1928. THE GLASS IS SIGNED IN SCRIPT "R. LALIQUE, FRANCE" ON OUTER EDGE OF BASE. THIS IS AN ORIGINAL VERSION OF THE JAMAIQUE CENDRIER (ASHTRAY) DESIGNED BY RENE LALIQUE IN THE LATE 1920's. THE DESIGN HAS BEEN REISSUED AND THE NEWER VERSION IS READILY AVAILABLE TODAY, HOWEVER, THE RENE LALIQUE ORIGINAL IS VERY HARD-TO-FIND.
MEASURES 7/8" HIGH AND 5 1/2" IN DIAMETER. WEIGHS 1.2 POUNDS.
THE ASHTRAY IS IN EXCELLENT CONDITION WITH NO NOTED FLAWS, HOWEVER, THERE ARE NUMEROUS FAINT SURFACE SCRATCHES ON THE BASE FROM NORMAL USE AND WEAR.
