Description
Please be sure to review all my other auctions after you have looked at this one! I will be listing a broad and diverse range of vintage communications and technology items, related books, periodicals and ephemera... Something for everyone! This is a scarce Western Electric 201A Vacuum Tube With Good Etching And A Good Filament!! The U.S. Navy referred to it as the CW-186. It has a "Navy base" in that it has a three contact base and the locking pin provided the fourth contact as part of the filament supply...
Similar to the WE 102 in construction, it has thirty-seven grid laterals versus thirty-one in the 102, and, of course, the special Navy specified base...
The glass envelope is clearly etched: "134437D". The base has a last patent date of 12-19-16, and the wax fill is stamped 201A.
Internal construction is excellent. Most often when you come across such a tube, the glass arbor is cracked or broken while this one remains as produced. The leads are still a crisp, red color.
I have tried to take good pictures to indicate the physical condition! Ask if you have any questions...
If you collect Western Electric vacuum tubes, this is a must for you! These are quite hard to find in good condition...
Shipping weight will be about 2 pounds.
I will pack all items properly and with great care. I have been shipping these kind of vintage items worldwide since the late 1980's. Buyers are responsible for shipping, insurance and material costs and any applicable duties. I usually can ship within one business day after receipt of confirmed payment.
International customers are very welcome! Bid with confidence...international shipping is not an issue!
